About Hailey Newman

Biography
Hailey Newman's story begins in a small, tight-knit mountain town in Eastern Kentucky. Born in Pikeville and raised just outside of Prestonsburg, Hailey proudly calls the heart of Appalachia home. Rooted in a deep sense of family, culture, and community, her upbringing in the Bluegrass region has shaped not just her values—but also her voice.
"My parents always encouraged me to go after what I want," Hailey says. "They've always supported me chasing this dream of becoming a singer-songwriter.
That dream found its spark in 2015, when Hailey stepped onto the stage at her 8th-grade talent show at South Floyd Middle School. Her performance of Miranda Lambert's "Mama's Broken Heart" earned a raucous response from the crowd—an unforgettable moment that lit the path ahead.
"Standing there, seeing everyone smiling and having a good time during my song—that's when I knew this was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life."
Later that same year, Hailey took the stage at the Mountain Arts Center's Front Porch Pickin', performing "Two Black Cadillacs" by Carrie Underwood. The experience only strengthened her resolve to turn her passion into a lifelong pursuit.
Growing up in an area where hardship was common, Hailey's music often reflects personal and emotional resilience. Her sister and best friend have both battled depression and anxiety—realities that have shaped Hailey's perspective and purpose as an artist.
"I've always looked up to strong women in music—Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Kelsea Ballerini. They carry themselves with this unshakable strength on and off stage, and that's what I aim to channel in my own music."
Musical Journey
In 2020, Hailey independently released her debut singles: "Fine By Me," "Never Mine," "Always With Me," "Now I Know," and "Driving Me Crazy." Each song offers a window into her heart—real stories told through raw, emotional melodies.
Since then, Hailey has been collaborating with renowned Nashville songwriters including Doug Kahan (Trick Pony, Clay Walker), Holly Lamar (Faith Hill, Jo Dee Messina), Britton Cameron (Lonestar, Don Williams), Kim McLean (Tim McGraw, Trisha Yearwood), Christian Stalnecker (Kane & Katelyn Brown), and Drew Womack (Kenny Chesney, Rascal Flatts). Together, they've helped shape her storytelling into powerful, personal anthems.
"I want people to know I'm just a regular person dealing with real life, just like them," she says. "I write from the heart because I want my music to be something people can hold onto."
In 2021, she continued that mission with a new wave of releases and music videos—further solidifying her style as one rooted in honesty, hope, and healing.
"My biggest message to listeners is simple: Your feelings are valid. You matter. You're not alone. And even when life feels dark, there's always light at the end of the tunnel. Maybe my music can be that light."
